The Tower of Babel, from the Book of Genesis, was a man-made fortress originally intended to foster one, clear and unified language. For whatever reason, God was displeased with them and turned the city into a noisy, chaotic environment where no one understood each other. Twitter reminds me of this biblical Tower of Babel where the language has disintegrated into babble.
But it doesn't have to be this way.
As a business person, tools are available to cut through the noise and effectively get your message out there to your intended audience.
Of the many popular tools, HootSuite is my favorite. You can manage multiple social networks (including Facebook), track statistics, manage your brand and multiple users, but best of all, schedule your messages (tweets) for future dates. And you can do this all in one fell swoop! One panel shows what's going on in Twitter at any time -- the "Home" panel. Another shows who is talking about you. Still another lists all your tweets and there's much more.
