We've talked about how important it is to build and sustain relationships with your prospects and customers.Too often business owners send out a couple of e-zines or blog a few times and sit back and wait to see whether they made an impact. Then nothing happens and they give up.
That's the wrong approach!
Remember, people need to see your message at least 7-12 times before they'll purchase from you. In other words you must follow-up.
More and more business owners are finding out that the money's in the follow-up!
The perfect tool for following up and building a relationship with your prospect/customer is with an e-zine. You can send it weekly, bi-weekly or monthly. Here are some quick tips from our book, "How to Say It: Marketing with New Media"
- Write conversationally. Use words that you'd normally say out loud to engage your reader
- Address your readers by name
- Write relevant content
- Use graphics
- Create an attention-getting subject line
- Use a soft sell approach.
