On Facebook, Everything Old is New Again
Facebook
is a great connector of people from different parts of your life. You can go way back to the cradle, or to elementary, high school and college, and connect with acquaintances
and friends from a bygone era.
Social
media is responsible for this shift in consciousness where everything old is
new again. Communities are tightening, becoming closer knit -- just like
communities of the agricultural and industrial ages. In those days, neighbors
would monitor each others' activities by peeking through lace covered
windows. After that the news would spread like wildfire all over
town.
Does this
remind you of the status bar "What are you doing now" on Facebook
and Twitter? How about viewing your friends' status on the home page of your
profile? It's a window to what's going on in everyone's lives.
I'm
having great fun connecting with old buddies and catching up, Want to share some of your connecting
stories? Click on comments button below.
